Malayalam Cinema's Record-Breaking Box Office Triumph: Vishu and Eid Releases Shine

Malayalam cinema is currently experiencing a golden era, with a surge in popularity among international audiences positively impacting box office collections across India. Following the resounding success of recent hits like "Premalu," "Bhramayugam," "Manjummal Boys," and "Aadujeetvam," Mollywood is now embracing the festive spirit with the release of three new films coinciding with Vishu and Eid.

Vineeth Srinivasan's much-anticipated film starring Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Srinivasan, and Nivin Pauly, along with Jithu Madhavan's project featuring Fahadh Faasil, and Ranjith Shankar's endeavor starring Unni Mukundan, have hit theaters as Vishu and Eid treats. The response from the audience has been overwhelming, setting a new record for Malayalam cinema with unprecedented footfall on the opening day.

Yesterday witnessed the highest single-day box office collection for Malayalam films in Kerala, with "Atusham," "Jai Ganesh," and "Aadujeetu" leading the charge. According to industry reports, these films collectively grossed Rs 9-10 crore on their debut day in Kerala alone.

While this marks a historic achievement for Malayalam cinema, the overall highest single-day collection in Kerala remains with Vijay's film "Leo," which earned 12 crores on October 19, 2023. Noteworthy mentions include April 14, 2022, when "KGF" and "Beast" were released, securing the third position in the list with a combined collection of 8.5 crores.

For Malayalam cinema, the highest single-day collection prior to yesterday was on February 25, attributed to the success of "Premalu," "Bhramayuga," and "Manjummal Boyz," which collectively earned 8 crores from Kerala theaters. This surge in box office earnings highlights the industry's growing prominence and audience appeal.
